Understanding Your
eMail Options
We provide mail forwarding which allows you
to redirect emails addressed to yourdomain.com to any other
address that you have access to such as yourname@gmail.com.
The reason we do not host the actual
mailbox is simple, it demands far greater resources that we could
provide at our price point and still be able to offer such a
great hosting product. Companies like google, and MSN have
hundreds of dedicated programmers and system administrators
working just on their mail systems to filter out spam and keep
your mail flowing. With most people using free mail servers
because of the convenience reliability and accessibility it is
pointless for us to host mail which would drive up the regular
hosting fees.
Using Outside Mail Hosting
We can redirect mail to any email host if you would like to use
an outside service to manage the email accounts for your domain.
There are thousands of companies that offer mail hosting for a
very low cost or even free. If you would rather use an outside
mail provider you will need to contact support with the MX record
required by that mail provider.
Once mail is redirected to an outside mail
provider you can use their tools to create , manage and access
mail account.
Companies such as Godaddy offer a free POP
account if you register your domain through them directly. If you
have another registrar contact them to see if they provide free
or paid pop accounts.
Using FREE eMail Services for POP3
and IMAP
There is no need to use an outside vendor since most free mails
offer the same POP3 services as the paid services so you can use
programs like Microsoft Outlook to manage your mail. Using
our eMail forwarding you can direct
mail to the free account and use the same mail utility you use
now to manage your mail.
Using Microsoft Outlook with Google Gmail
Using Microsoft Outlook with Hotmail or MSN
Live
Using Microsoft Outlook Yahoo or Ymail
There are loads of free pop accounts
available but we would recommend using one of the major companies
for the most reliable mail. You should also know that the ISP
that provides your Internet access also provides eMail services
with that account.
If you would like POP type mail services
with full support contact your ISP for help with those accounts.
Many will also offer to host your business mail on the same
account which would require a simple MX Record change to direct
all your business email to your regular service provider.
