Using Templates and
Layouts
Templates and Layouts are the key element
in your website. The basic blueprint for the page design. They
determine if the buttons are on top or bottom or side, as well as
the overall page design.
Templates are different than layouts in
that they include graphics and are generally themed. The layouts
are general layouts that determine menu location and page setup
but have no background or graphics of any type.
You can switch between any layout or
template at any time. Any buttons or title images you have will
be rearranged to fit the new template or layout.
Shown below are one layout and one template.
You can see the layout is plain and leaves you full control of
the page background, colors and graphics. The template is already
set up with graphics and page background.

If you use the layout, you will need to
create your own graphics, choose a backgroung image or colors and
decorate it just to get to the point the template already
provides. There are hundreds of templates available for use and
can be changed with one click. But the templates do limit your
design, so for the hardcore designers, you can use the layouts
and mold your pages into the shape you want.
To Change Templates or Layouts:
> Click "Page Properties"
> Click "Change Page Layout"
........or "Choose Themed Template"
Templates are shown with thumbnails, simply
click the "Change Template" button and the entire
website is changed to that design. The same is try for the
layouts, however the selection pages uses check buttons allowing
you to select one of the options, then submit the choice.
Remember that if you have created a Title Graphic, you
will need to delete it or make a new image for the new template.
The old image will be stretched or squashed to fit the new design.
Also, buttons will likely need to be rebuilt to match the new
theme. If the old buttons used an image that was part of the
design, they will not match the new design.
