Photo Gallery Management

The photo gallery is a simplified version of the shopping cart for people that only need photos and descriptions and not necessarily the e-commerce tools. You can create a simple photo gallery with 50 categories in addition to the shopping cart, however they share space allocated for the 2500 products. So you can have up to 2500 items in the cart and photos in the gallery combined. You can use both or either depending on the needs of your business.

To add the photo gallery to any page use the inclusion code %%include-photogallery%%.

Access the photo gallery management page from the Manage Programs page. From there you can add categories, photos, descriptions as well as edit the current photos.

The size limits for the photos is 1MB each with a combined upload size of 5MB. You can upload up to 10 photos at one time as long as the total size does not exceed 5MB.

Once photos are uploaded you can add ttles and descriptions that will appear on the gallery page and the main photo pages. Just like the shopping cart you can use the regular page editor to build complete pages, links etc for each of the photos as well as add outside photos to each page.

While the shopping cart and photogallery share the same space they are completely independent programs and can both be run on the website with different subject matter.

Change ID Number - The system will assign a number to each photo when it is uploaded. The number is ised for the server to understand where and what the photo is. You can change the number which will allow you set to an order of the photos in your gallery. Use the sort options in the configuration to set the default order and set the ID numbers in the order you would like to have the photos displayed. That gives you full control of the placement of the photos.

Change Photo - You can change a photo without removing or losing the description. There is a link to change the photo under the Manage Photos link and on the Modify Description page.

Searching Photos - You can include a search form in the display gallery and search the photos from the management page to edit the descriptions. Remember, only the text in the descriptions and names is searchable. If you do not have descriptions for each photo the search should not be used.

Remove Photo - Using the remove photo link will remove the photo as well as the description and main page. If you need to preserve the data use the change photo link to change only the photo.

Remove Category - Removing a category will remove all photos and descriptions in that category.

Rename Category - Will change the name of any category.

Moving Pics to New Categories - You can move any photo to any category by selecting a new category on the edit description page. When you submit the form the photo and description will be moved to the new category.

Photo Gallery Settings - You can display 3x3 or 9 photos per page at 200 pixels wide each or 4x5 or 20 photos per page at 125 pixels wide each. Setting also allow for text or drop down menu or none, a search and sort form and the default sort order for display.
